Four Things You Need to Know about Your First TEDxYYC

Jun 24, 2015

This year will be the biggest TEDxYYC event ever. This means there will be lots of new faces, discovering this amazing one day conference for the first time!  This makes us very excited.
Here are some tips and tricks to make the most of your first TEDxYYC.
TEDx Audience
1. Be amazed, and pass it on
Our speakers have been, and will continue to be the top innovators, dreamers, and doers in their fields. They are no ordinary speakers, and this is no ordinary conference. Take notes, doodle, and make a point to remember the highlights, because we can assure you that by the next day, any friends who missed out will be begging you for the low-down. These are, after all, ideas worth spreading.

2. The lobby is your playground!
In between blocks of speakers, there are some breaks, where the audience gets to mingle and explore the lobby. Take advantage of all the fun, and interactive activities we’ve prepared for you, with the help of our generous sponsors. There is a lot going on, so make a plan to check out every corner of the lobby.  You’ll be glad you did.

3. Get out of your comfort zone
Leave your preconceived notions at the door and prepare to immerse yourself in new ideas.  We have some great talks lined up, covering topics you may be completely unfamiliar with. It’s a great opportunity to broaden your knowledge base, and learn a thing or two about yourself in the process.

4. Be part of the action on social media
Before, after and especially during the conference, we will be posting on our social media channels. We invite you to join the conversation and share some pictures, ideas and comments about the event!  Follow us on Twitter (@TEDxYYC), Facebook (facebook.com/TEDxYYC) and Instagram (@tedxyyc) to get in on it.
