2011 Ticket Applications Now Open

Feb 1, 2011

Applications to attend TEDxYYC’s event at Theatre GRAND on April 1, 2011 are now online. As mandated by TED we are only able to sell 100 tickets to the event and we are looking for attendees that come from a diverse background, are active in the community and are committed to positive social change.

Last year’s event, Great Minds, highlighted the work of nine talented individuals in the fields of sustainability, education, healthcare, technology and the arts. We’re proud to say that one speaker, Ben Cameron, Director of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation is now featured on TED’s main website and copies of the TED.com video have been viewed by over 30,000 people on YouTube alone.

One of our generous sponsors, Community Natural Foods, has again offered to pay for ten post-secondary students to attend. This is to ensure that the brightest minds of tomorrow are represented at the event. We salute our sponsors for their philanthropic efforts and encourage everyone to support local businesses such as Community Natural Foods.

Applications to attend TEDxYYC 2011 can be found on our website – Tedxyyc.com . Tickets for the event are $95. The application process will close on February 20, 2011 and the first round of invites will go out one week after that, on February 27, 2011. We thank everyone for applying and their continued support of TEDxYYC.
