Best of TEDxYYC – Gilmore Junio

May 26, 2014

Gilmore Junio: The generosity dilemma – generosity competes with the drive to be excellent. Decisions are made in a tug-of-war based on our values and experiences. Gilmore’s parents taught him to work hard, provide a better life for the family, because of the sense of service to others. As a high performance athlete, competition places your individual ambitions ahead of others. Gold holds more weight than blood. While training and competing, Gilmore missed family celebrations like birthdays, funerals.

Gilmore told his story about how generosity is a catalyst for excellence. Watch it again.
