Finding Courage, Conquering Fear | Marni Panas

In this honest and inspiring talk, Marni Panas shares her sometimes heartbreaking, other times funny, but always real journey as a transgender woman finding the courage to overcome fear. Marni Panas is a leading voice on inclusion and social justice, dedicated to creating safe and inclusive spaces for LGBTQ and the greater community. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, Marni has shared her experiences and insights with local, national and international media – including CNN, CTV and the BBC. Marni’s work contributed to Gender Identity and Gender Expression being added as protected grounds from discrimination to Alberta’s Human Rights Act and similar legislation to Canada’s Human Rights Act. Marni is a transgender woman who has been very transparent throughout her journey in the hopes of fostering acceptance through education and respectful dialogue.
