TEDxYYC Speaker Update – See Who’s Speaking on April 1

Mar 16, 2011

We’re excited and sad that Kris Krug can no longer speak at TEDxYYC. Kris has been offered the opportunity of a lifetime to work on a documentary in the South Pacific and sends his regrets. Congrats, Kris! It just goes to show how amazing you are. If you don’t already follow his droplets of wisdom, hipster-ness and photo uploads, get on Twitter NOW!

So, what does the speaker line-up look like? Voila!

TEDxYYC Speakers:

Kirk Sorensen – On Thorium as a means to ending the energy crisis.
Gary Burns – Calgary film-maker and suburban sprawl documenterian.
David Damberger – Founder, Engineers Without Borders (Calgary) on “Learning from Failure.”
Patrick Finn – On “Loving Communication” and changing how we talk and listen.
Jamie Furniss – Who lived with Egyptian garbage collectors in Cairo for two years.
Dr Ron Glasberg – On “Learning for Liberty. Education for Freedom Rather than Slavery”
Kris Vester – “The $3.6 Billion / Year Curriculum.”

Psst: We’ll also have special performances from Pulse Hip Hop and the Calgary Opera’s Emerging Artists. Oh, and beer breaks courtesy of SteamWhistle, and munchies courtesy of Community Natural Foods.

Don’t forget we’ll be live streaming the event at TEDxYYC.com and the after party is open to the public in the Velvet Lounge starting at 6:30pm.
