Paul Brandt | The Art of the Pivot

Paul Brandt is a Multi-Platinum recording artist, philanthropist, and 21-year serial entrepreneur in
music, one of the world’s most dynamic businesses. His journey to musical success began in Calgary,
Canada, and propelled him to a 10-year stint Music City USA, Nashville, Tennessee.

Compelled by his experience as a Registered Nurse at the Alberta Children’s Hospital,
Paul combines humanitarian endeavours with his celebrity platform. Humanitarian aid work around the
world led him to pioneer the vision for The Buckspring Foundation (Formerly Build It Forward).

The Buckspring Foundation helps neighbours to help neighbours by facilitating activities and projects to
meet practical physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs around the world. Its current focus project is
the anti-Human Trafficking movement called “Not In My City”, raising awareness about Child Sexual
Exploitation and Sex Trafficking.

Paul has numerous honorary degrees, including a Doctor of Fine Arts (University of Lethbridge), and a
Doctor of Divinity (Briercrest Bible College). On June 1, 2018, he will be honoured with another degree in
Social Innovation, Mount Royal University’s Bisset School of Business’ first recipient in recognition of his
work as Storyteller in Residence at his alma mater. Paul continues to be an active touring and recording
musician, speaker and writer.

He is inspired by people with big vision to help others and strives daily to defy categorization.
Often combining singing with storytelling and speaking on topics as diverse as resilience, risk,
philanthropy, resourcefulness, and brand, his unconventional creativity inspires audiences to be
outward-looking, and resourceful in a dynamic world.
