Just in time for Christmas, we are excited to announce that TEDxYYC 2011 will be held at The Grand Theatre on April 1. The beautiful and historic multi-purpose arts space is a perfect fit for TEDxYYC and we look forward to working with the Grand’s team. Connect with community builders who lead with vision, embrace innovation and inspire collective action. Challenge yourself to be better. Learn, discuss, empower.
Last year’s event, Great Minds, highlighted the work of nine talented individuals in the fields of sustainability, education, healthcare, technology and the arts. We’re proud to say that one speaker, Ben Cameron, Director of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation is now featured on TED’s main website. While TED.com doesn’t release numbers, we know that over 30,000 people have watched copies of Ben Cameron’s talk on YouTube alone.
This year, we’re talking about where the rubber hits the road. Calgary has proved we are a city of change. Not content to rest on our laurels, we’re skipping past the dreamers and going straight to the people that get things done…and we have some impressive surprises for you!
While the committee is working hard to ensure that the roster of speakers for TEDxYYC 2011 will be even more impressive than last year, we value your input. If you know a community innovator, be sure to suggest it.
Applications to attend TEDxYYC 2011 will be on our website – tedxyyc.com – on January 1. As there are only 100 tickets available for the event, tickets will go quickly. Don’t miss your chance to learn from the visionary community builders that inspire us all to action.
