We’re extremely excited to announce that Calgary-based Kali Taylor has been added to our growing list of amazing speakers for our event on May 25th at the TELUS Spark Science Centre.
Kali developed a passion for community building at a young age. Raised in a small town, she sat on various community initiative committees and formed one of Alberta’s first youth councils. From here, she went on to consult small, rural communities on how to better engage youth.
Kali found her passion for the energy industry when she began working in the industry as an analyst when she was 19 while studying for her Bachelor of Commerce in Energy Management at the University of Calgary. While simultaneously working and studying, Kali gave back to the business school community by participating in various student initiatives. Most notably, Kali chaired the planning of the inaugural International Student Energy Summit that brought 350 students from 30 countries to Calgary to learn from leading energy experts.
Kali then founded the not-for-profit organization, Student Energy, that works to create a global movement of students committed to transitioning the world into a sustainable energy based future. Kali has received numerous awards for her dedication and leadership in community activities and was named one of Canada’s Top 25 Environmentalists Under 25 in 2011.
