TEDxYYC 2015 PRESS RELEASE:

If variety is the spice of life, things will be really cooking at this year’s TEDxYYC conference. The final four speakers have just been announced, and they come from all corners of our diverse city. Come check them out, as well as the rest of the stellar lineup at TEDxYYC 2015 held on June 26th at the Jack Singer Concert Hall.

Joel Klettke is the Best Looking Man in the World, or at least that’s what Google says. Award-winning copywriter and brilliant content marketer, Joel has learned the ins and outs of online storytelling and is now prepared to share his secrets of search engines with us.

Recently having experienced the April earthquakes in Nepal, family doctor and Executive Director of the Global Familymed Foundation, Christine Gibson learned firsthand what it means to “help”. She specializes in working with local universities in getting physicians working where they’re needed most.

Kateri Cowley is a local cowgirl, having grown up just outside of the city at Rafter Six Ranch Resort. Following extensive training with high end cutting horses, Kateri now works training both animals and riders, taking turns as a stunt double, TV host and animal wrangler. Kateri is the only woman ever to win the Cowboy Up Challenge at the Calgary Stampede, and is also a former Stampede Princess.

Bobby Mileage is a case study in resiliency. Overcoming obstacles with discipline, determination and sheer strength of will, Bobby has met with huge success, both with his own clothing line, as well as his dance career. Allow Bobby to change your mind about hip hop dance with his talk and performance at this year’s TEDxYYC.

Our third entertainment act is sure to get audience moving. Hip hop duo Dragon Fli Empire is a leading force in the city’s hip hop scene. They’ve opened for names like De La Soul, The Roots, Public Enemy and Mos Def and will now show their stuff on our stage.
